Career
Thomas Soucek is a midfielder born in 1995 from the Czech Republic. He grew up in football in Slavia Prague and after having played in all the youth national teams of his country, he arrived in the senior selection in November 2016 in a friendly match against Denmark. His good performances with the red and white of the capital, 73 appearances seasoned by 21 total goals, attract the attention of several European clubs. West Ham borrowed it in January 2020, to redeem it for around € 16 million in the next with a 4-year contract.
Technical features
A long-limbed player with another 192 centimeters for eighty-six kilograms, Soucek is a midfielder to protect the defense, who can also play the role of central in the back department. He does not have good ball control, but he knows how to read the action, often managing to anticipate the opponent in tackles and with a touch to restart the maneuver. In Moyes’ Hammers he represents a real bulwark to overcome, for his intelligence and simplicity in playing the ball. Strong of his height, he has his specialty in head shots both in defense and in the opposing area. Thanks to his sense of position, he often finds himself in the right place at the right time, throwing the ball into the net. As well as an excellent shooter, penalty shooter when he played with Slavia Prague. At the start of the season he has already scored five goals, which make him one of the most interesting revelations of the Premier League.
